Product Description

"Liuli" means ancient Chinese glass/crystal. It has a history dating back thousands of years, first appearing in the 11th century BC.

The raw materials for glass are silicates and metal oxides, which are abundant in nature. After melting at high temperatures, they are formed into rods of various sizes and then annealed before being hand-processed into the final products. Unlike glaze, Liuli glasswork does not use a mold; each piece is unique, as it is an improvised work of art by the craftsman. Compared to glass, Liuli glasswork has a lower melting point, making it more colorful. Perfect glasswork is not only the result of craftsmanship but also of luck.
